Robert Wood, MD, MPH
Robert Wood, MD Dr. Robert Wood is the Medical Director at the Carrillo Surgery Center. He is board certified in pain management and anesthesiology by the American Society of Anesthesiologists.

Dr. Wood earned an undergraduate Chemistry degree in a Peace Corps College Degree Program at SUNY, Brockport, N.Y., in 1970. Thereafter he served as a Peace Corps volunteer in secondary education in Honduras, Central America. Two years later he returned to the United States where he conducted genetics research and studied biochemistry at UC San Diego. Dr. Wood then studied medicine at the University Autonoma de Guadalajara and then transferred to the University of Southern California to receive his medical degree. Simultaneously, Dr. Wood also obtained a Masters of Public Health degree at UCLA. He continued his medical training at LAC-USC, completing his internship and residency in internal medicine followed by a fellowship in nutrition medicine. Dr. Wood spent three additional years in research, earned an additional fellowship in pulmonary/critical care medicine and completed a residency in anesthesia. Under the direction of the Chief of Pain Medicine, Dr. Jack Berger, Dr. Wood received his board certification in Pain Medicine. Dr. Wood is an anesthesiologist and performs pain management at the Carrillo Surgery Center along with Dr Schienberg.

Dr. Wood's outside interests include: coffee farming, bicycling, hiking, fishing and cross cultural studies.

Current Research:
The application of a new nitrogen source as it relates to coffee production.

Alan Moelleken, MD
Alan Moelleken, MD Dr. Moelleken is a Board Certified Orthopedic Surgeon specializing in surgery of the spine. He received his medical degree from the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine and subsequently completed an orthopedic surgical residency at UCLA. In addition, Dr. Moelleken completed a dedicated spine fellowship at New York University which included both orthopedic and neurosurgery. He has taught neuro and orthopedic surgery at Bellevue Hospital Medical Center in the New York and the New York University Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center. Dr. Moelleken has made a significant contribution to the medical community through his medical journal publications and his chairmanship of the Tri-County Spine Conference during the past nine years.
